Dear members of BDSA,

I hope you are doing well. I am writing to you regarding a proposal to amend our constitution. Since our original constitution was adopted a lot of Purdue's policies changed and we, as a community, grew a lot and it necessitated some updates to the constitutional provision. We, the 2017-18 Executive Committee of BDSA propose the amendment of the constitution and introduce the concept of by-laws. We believe the constitutional amendment would help BDSA go further in the days to come, streamlining legal process and is more compliant with Purdue's regulations than the current one. So I personally urge you to help us adopt this constitutional amendment by voting in favor of adapting it.

Please have a look at the constitutional amendment proposal uploaded in our website, and let me know if you have any concerns regarding the proposed amendments to the constitution. (Our current constitution is also kept in our website) (Underlines represent the additions while strikethroughs represent rearrangement and omissions) You can send out your concerns/comments to bdsa@purdue.edu email in three weeks.

Also, if you want to be part of the elections, you have to be an active student member, meaning you have to pay membership dues. Deadline for paying dues is April 14, so if we do not receive your membership fee by this date, you will not be eligible for participating in the election or referendum. Also, I will be sending out a separate email to all active student members, containing the doc file of the edits. Please let me know if you did not receive the email but renewed BDSA membership.
